HSD Coilovers
Just thought I would let everyone know how the HSD coilovers I brought from Joe (Balistic) went as a few people I know are intersted in getting them.
I ordered the $1499 ones with adjustable strut tops, they also have are large amount of height and damping adjustment. Picked them up on Saturday installed them straight away easy job there is a thread in the mechanical section atm on how to do it, however its even easier as its just bolts straight in. Pics of the coilovers on the car Before... Nice pritty brakes but thats about it http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...X/Image014.jpg After..... http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...X/Image016.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...X/Image017.jpg I had the same coilovers in my skyline so I knew they were going to be good, and they really are. My car handled like a boat before and looked like a lift kit GC8. No the car wasn't on the hoist that really is how high it was. After the coilovers installed car looks like it does in the crappy pics i have taken below, sorry ill get some better ones when i can get a camera that isn't my phone. Car also handles awesome while at the same time still being comfortable enough to drive everyday (my car is driven every day). It is pritty low. I may go lower latter on but if i do that ill have to do something about the plastic along the wheel arch so not sure how ill go about that. |

Are those pictures of the coil overs installed at the height your running? How comfortable are they at that height - have you anything to compare them to?

not the pictures of the actual coilovers with the wheels off as i had not yet adjusted them up when i took the pic but how the car is in the pic thats how i am driving around atm and its fine to drive so may go lower when i sort out plastic wheel arch.
I have driven in mates cars with jap brand coilovers only two wrx's though and they are not as harsh as them I don't think. I am supose to see your sister this weekend so you can have a look if you want and let me know wat you think since you have probalby been more wrx with coilovers than me. |

If you drive around flat suburbs you may not notice it straight away.
Be interested to know how smooth they ride. |

that's one hell of a drop alright! Be interesting to hear how car handles at that height. Now you just need to do some bling wheels. Not a big fan of the scoop on your car. Just looks odd imo. Congrats on install of coilovers!

yeah i agree with the scoop i thought i would like it but not so sure. I'll keep it till i get a FMIC unless i get bigger TMIC. Haha yeah attention is defently on the crap wheels now oh well one day.
Handling wise i think its awesome however compare to stock i am sure anything is. Have not yet messed around much with the damping adjustment. If i went to a track day i think i'd lift it a bit though. If anyone is really interested in getting some they can come have a look, i think Joe will be getting some soon too for ppl with 01+ |
