Random Starting Issue - MY01
 

Heyas,

I have a slight problem which rarely occurs. Basically, go to start the car (Engine Light is turned on, which would indicate Brandt is disabled, however all they keys are illuminated)

Turn the key to fire up the motor and nothing happens. When i turn the key all the way, everything dims (clock dims to the point where you cant see the time)

Happened this afternoon - Tried to turn it on a few times, couldn't get it started, then all of a sudden it fired up no worries. I had driven the car reasonably hard a few hours before ..

I suspect it's just Brandt being a bitch ..

can you hear the starter motor relay?

What does that sound like, a clicking? If so .. No, i don't remember hearing it.

it should be a fairly audible click if the motor doesnt start. If you dont hear it. Check the relays and replace if necessary.


Normally you cant hear it if the motor is starting up, but if there is something wrong with the starter motor, you should hear a click sound. If you do hear a click sound and it still doesnt start. your starter motor might be suss. Doubtful though that a MY01 would have a dead starter motor.
