No. A thicker oil can mean it won't pump around your engine, which means no lubrication. Selection of oils isn't just pick up the first bottle on the shelf. This is why Subaru engineers spend a lot of time researching and selecting the best oil viscosity for their engine. If in doubt, go with what they recommend.

If your car is seriously modified or tracked, then speak to your mechanic / tuner for their recommendations.
