Intake resonator
I remember reading a while ago, a thread about blow off valves, and that if you want a bit off noise, without the extra issues (and cost) that can come with buying and fitting a blow off valve, it said about removing the resonator from the intake.
Anyone have a link to the thread, I did search for it, and spent the best part of 40min trying to find it, and couldnt. Or, someone have the instructions for the removal of the resonator from a 02wrx or, willing to help me to do it. Cheers |

The resonator is behind the front drivers side quarter panel. You need to remove the guard liner to get at it.

Makes a massive difference to induction noise, I honestly couldn't believe it, and given that its free its certainly worthwhile if your into that sorta thing. EDIT: We basically followed this guide: clicky But its pretty easy just to figure out as you go along Last edited by Lorry; 10-07-2007 at 07:55 PM. |

yeh man.. should be in the front drivers side guard.
i removed mine from the foz on the weekend and now it sounds like a vacume on steriods.. awesome. one tip tho.. be sure to be carefully when removing the resonator.. as the air-bag sensor is also behind the guard.. tho you cant miss it.. there are a few yellow wires to it Adam

There is no filter in the resonator itself, the only thing is does is provide a 'less direct' path for the air to flow through. The filter element still sits inside the intake box.
