The best course of action is to pretend your have been blinded by the laser as a result of it being aimed at your face. blabbing..."I have a migraine - black dots in my vision - I cant see!"
Like thats gonna work. Hand held radars are not used anymore. You'll find when ever its held by a copper, it will be a laser and yes, by the time you get the warning, your either getting waved in or going past because he/she is looking for someone going faster.
If your speed is detected over the limit but not waved in and your plate is noted be the operator, you can still get a ticket. But most coppers wont bother so I wouldnt worry to much about that.

Its a laser god damn it!!! not a radar. Anyway, it doesnt log the speeds for a later date or anything like that. It only locks the speed the detected and the distance each time the trigger is pressed. for example: If i pinged ya at 98/80 and I wanted to get ya for 100/80, Ill keep hittin ya till your speed goes up that little bit more but if it goes down as you get closer for what ever reason, I'd ping the next car.

Could you not run towards the car to create the impression that it is approaching faster?

Dan,

Whats your hit and miss rate for readings?

I know that most of the time its pretty good and its one point & shoot motion but sometimes it requires two shots or three shots to get a good reading.

Also do all operators go through a "training" course?

Ping the next car and use his speed to book you???

I went through two laser traps yesterday and neither time did the detector alert (wasn't speeding anyway).
