Price of 2008 Sti?
Anyone any ideas of the mooted price for the 08 Sti? I heard in the UK it will be around £30'000 which puts it at about $75'000, but whether Subaru Australia will price it as such remains to be seen. I understand the Evo X is going to be between 70 & 80K and Subaru want the Sti to compete with the X so will price it accordingly. I can't see $20K's worth of extra gear in the Sti and I really think Subaru have to be careful here. $75K puts it in a similar (or higher) price bracket with such cars as the Audi S3, TT, 350Z, various BMW models...- (the new 1 series comes out next yr 3.2l TT, c, 80K) If I had 75K/80K to spend it wouldn't be going on an Sti. I think technically/mechanically it will be a superb car, but not an 80K car. At that price it will be a different market, mid - late 30s+ and they don't want a Japanese hot hatch. I'm obviously generalising and stereotyping here, but you know what I'm getting at.

My bet They wont change the price much at all.
It doesnt seem to have anything better than what the current one has. My Bet is $57K - $60K |
my bet 60-65...

Current one is about 30000 pond so since that hasn't changed I doubt ours will much

It's very hard to compare prices across different countries.
For instance, a WRX in the USA is about US$25,000 or AUD$32,000. Yet a WRX is sold in Australia for $40+k. Unfortunately we all have to wait and see with the pricing. Personally I think the price will remain very similar, within 10%. |
The Specs are a bit different especially between the USA and OZ on WRX's.
For the STi, I think the price will not change but instead Subi Oz will develop a whole range of performance packages to bolt on and option up the STi. |
AFAIK it will be between the current ($56,xxx) and $60k
