I have seen a 600ml coke bottle lid pushed into the hose and secured with a hose clamp....so you are probably looking at a 30mm outer diameter bungholio - ask for one in the reticulation section at your local Bunnings.

I have a rubber stopper for the bottom of a chair. Stuffed it in and sealed with a hose clamp. Does the trick. Bought it from bunnings for a couple of bucks. Go to Bunnings and go to your hardware/fixings section and it will be there, you can buy one thats close to the size your after, coz they taper down so it will fit in no matter what.
