I got an MMS system sounds great, looks good, not too loud, adds a shite load of power & did nothing as far as changing tune, just running standard computer 151atw at PSI, but it's V3 STI so dunno if you need to make any other mods, turbo back mandrell bent with cat about $1,750 IMHO worth every cent. I have a 3" mild steel catback with magna flow muffler. not that loud but sounds nice.
top end feels smoother although car isnt really anyquicker for it. I have a MY01 so need a new ecu before I put the dump/cat in. |

Normal GD's (01-05) work fine with just an exhaust...will run rich but nothing to be alarmed with. STI's on the other hand would require a tune of somesort as they seem to be prone to boost spikes once an exhaust system is fitted. Altho there are examples where they work fine without a tune and others that need it. A reflash and exhaust makes a great bolt on combination and excellent value for money.
Cypher are highly recommended exhaust specialists. A catback WILL make a difference...sure a turbo back exhaust makes a bigger difference again, but to say a catback makes no difference is rubbish. Any steps in helping a turbo engine breath more efficiently is always a step in the right direction.
