advice on buying a 2002-2004 foz
i'm looking at picking up one of these for the other half..
quite a few people on here that own one/have owned one, so any info/tips greatly appreciated. gearbox? issues? regular issues? drivetrain problems? should i be targetting a particular model/year searching for something around the 20-23k mark exhaust only.. no other mods preferred :D i always buy private, but happy to go dealership if that's a more secure option for her and/or pricing is not that different. |

I have an 05XT but it depends what you or your wife wants out of it?
turbo or NA? I would go the SG9 series with the 2.5L engines if your budget allows |

i've been looking through the rydaz forum.. lot of good stuff there
it's a shame there isn't one in wa that is nicely priced right now. goro- turbo..funnily enough. budget is as above, don't really want to spend more. |
Have a 2002 Forry LE, from 60k and its about 115k now, only thing thats every gone was rear wheel bearings. Havnt had a single problem with anything else. Very happy with it. Not sure if your talking about turbo or not though, but we picked it up a couple of years ago for 19k.

There are a few nice 'sounding' Foresters in the paper at the moment mate. I was circling a few with a mate on Sunday. Nothing off the top of my head now, sorry.
You could get into an 03/4XT for 23k, roughly 100k on the clock. As with all Subies, 100k service is a killer. Cheers, Nik |
i heard there's a nice low k GT for sale in perth
think its in the FS section |

wanted to look at it myself. |
smokey- was debating non-turbo.. for the fuel economy/servicing side of things. Unsure if i can get her to do that considering she has driven all of my cars[all turbos in the last 2 years]
theprotest- i had a look too.. nothing really stood out. pmh/hurtenstein - for some reason.. the km's get to me each time i see a forester at 150,000+. |
