awesome brant!! *sarcasm*
Hey guys got alittle issue
So im driving back home from grabbing lunch, and once again my brant cuts off my engine, Try to start my car relise that the yellow indicator was not on. Not only that i take my keys out put them back in and the yellow indicator still did not come on, Lock/unlock my car and punch in my code Still the indicator did not come on. In the end i had to take my keys out and put them back in, Turn the key back and forth and repeat the procedure till the yellow indicator would come on. In the end the car did start, however i am worried about the brant cutting my engine off again. For some additional information the car was started and driven for less then 5 minutes before it cut off my engine Anybody any help or anybody who can shed some light? appreciated Cheers |
had problems today with mine too... doe some funny sh1t when it gets too hot....
as you said though, it generally involves removing the key, lockinhg and unlocking then trying it all over again.... |
Wife's MY 04 did a very similar thing - Subaru changed the battery in it
Apparently they (Battery) get a crack in them - then intermittent faults as you are describing Every thing works but engine light on dash doesnt come up - cranks etc |
Dont mean to be a thread nazi (actually, i do), but you started a thread 5days ago about your Brant issues. You posted in that one as well. Why exactly was a new thread necessary?
|
that thread was regarding the master code but yeah sorry about that just urgently need to find out if anybody shed some light, if its wiring or brant keypad issues.....so far everybodys having similar problems but no solutions. i did just change the battery, but i was having this problem now and then , not often but it happened before. Any suggestions anybody? wana just hear opinions before i take it to subaru.
had problems today with mine too... doe some funny sh1t when it gets too hot....
as you said though, it generally involves removing the key, lockinhg and unlocking then trying it all over again....
Mine had issues in the heat, or I should say, more prone to problems in the heat, it ended up being faulty/dry solder joints in the keypad module. One way that you can test this, next time its failing to start, tap firmly on the dash between your stereo and glove box, while trying to start the car. May not always be a tell tale, but it can be. See if you can get the connections re-soldered and see if it helps your problem. (Subaru's diagnosis was to replace the unit, where as my bro re-soldered the connectors, now alls good) |
Never Ever had a problem with mine. *Touches Wood*
Mine has always worked First time everytime |
^^
As above, same with mine. Best factory alarm system EVER! |
try and keep the keypad out of direct sunlight - place something over it that would essentially block the sunlight off it - They dont take well to direct heat
|
Have you taken it back for the recall? There was a wiring issue which caused random shit to happen.
