Default Sat Nav in MY08 STi

Does anyone know the make and model of the satellite navigation system that is an option in the MY08 STi?

Any other good options that could be contenders?

i have an Alpine Head unit with flip out screen. I use a garmin black box to get sat nav in my MY05

only thing is its not touch screen.

But the garmin unit can hook up to any screen. I can get the part number if you like.

Buy yourself a $500 Tomtom.

Cheap, effective and portable.

Pioneer do a unit called the AVIC HD3, pretty expensive around the $3k mark but so is the factory Subaru one. I've had a play with the Pioneer unit and it looks pretty good

I have a Tom Tom. What I didn't realise at the time of purchase is that the Subaru Unit isn't just a navigation system. It is also integrated with the car (fuel consumption, instant fuel, service info etc). Also, it integrates with bluetooth and iPods (thru the console box). Other options include a reversing camera that displays on the screen when reverse is selected.

People might go 'ho-hum' on the last one - but it's scares the crap out of me now that I have a little one, after seeing first hand how quickly tots can move.

Also, the Tom Tom is a bit of a pain. Everytime I go to use it - it is flat, and I need to have it plugged in with cables everywhere.

Now I will just use the Tom Tom when interstate in a hire car
