Painting STI topmount
 

Silly question, I am thinking of painting my top mount pink, STI pink. Would this affect the cooling capacity of my top mount and is it a bad idea.

yeah it will reduce the capacity.
but mostly you will need to paint between the fins which is generally done by using alot of spray paint which makes a thick coat on those tubes resulting in an insulating effect.

Maybe just paint "STI" on it.

Maybe buy a lancer and put pink playboy stickers on it

Just but a STI stencil and some HOT PINK paint and spray the LOGO on there.

Or unbolt the intercooler and spray the think Black or whatever colour you like.

Already got STI, might leave it hehe. Will get some playboy bunny stickers instead lol.

I was always a fan of the 'Magic Happens' stickers, or better yet - Those Jesus ones, some fish looking thing.

Well for one it is my car, if I want to paint the whole thing pink and put 10 inch dildos all over it I will. What you think is crap I may like.

I dont like done up excels but the person who did it might. I dont like some of the cars on here but the owners think they are hot. I think fat girls are hot but some guys dont, each to there own heheheh...

The problem is your initial post asks if there are any cooling problems painting the intercooler pink.

If you are after performance, leave it alone.

If you are after looks, leave performance out of it :D

Essentially painting it (any colour btw) will decrease its effectiveness. How much depends on the painting.

If however you have put say chrome rims on, they have reduced the performance of the car much more than painting a tmic.
