Default yellow sticker advise!

ugh so tonight i was doing some learners driving tonight and got yellow stickered for an oil leak
the boys in blue were cool about it though, i was let off with just the yellow and no fines or licence stuff
so im thankful
but can anyone tell me how to go about getting my car over the pits and not have to pay more then the car is worth?
im getting everything fixed over the next few days at work should only be about $200 of part and im going to do the labor

get the oil leak fixed up, tidy up any other "illegal" parts on the car, and give the engine bay a nice degrease, so it looks clean. Pay your $84 or what ever it costs to go over the pits these days... and hope you don't get a shopping list a mile long.

All the best..

Went round a corner a bit too quick tonight and got pulled over, thought i was gonna get a yellow sticker for sure cause im running on slicks basically, while i wait for my wheels to come from Japan! Plus its a bit low, they could have got me on a few things I reckon but she was pretty cool, she just told me to take care cause of the recent accidents

They were cool but they yellowed your stock car for an oil leak? That seems the opposite of cool and very picky considering 95% of cars on the road have an oil leak.
And you were on your L's aswell?

Or by learner driving do you mean thrashing through roundabouts?
