congrats on getting it worked out!
assessors with attitude...tell me about them...had an experience about 12 years ago when I had the stereo stolen from my car. Even with police report I could sense that the assessor acted suspicious towards me, for whatever reason I don't know.
eventually the insurance company paid out, and although they sent me to a reputable stereo shop in Perth, the quality of the install of the replacement sound system was shit to say the least. Kept me waiting for days too.
pity I had to accept the car back with that standard of install as I was leaving for an overseas trip within the next few days...
