300+AWHP from later 2.5L wrxs
Just wondering getting 300 and above Awhp on the later model 2.5L equipped rexes, what sorta supporting mods are you guys running? also turbo reccomendations ect?
im thinking about the AVO 420 at this point possible... also what Qtr mile times would you guys expect? or have got? |
Feral's 06 WRX did 330-340 hp at the hubs on ASGs dyno. Stock ej255 engine.
he has decap injectors, gtps02 turbo, processwest FMIC, TBE, Silicone intake. |
Weren't you keeping the WRX as your daily?

300 hp should be reachable with stock internals. Supporting mods i would go to make it a little easier - FMIC, Headers, TBE, injectors could also be reaching their max.
My choice for turbo's is an AVO 450s |
pretty sure muggz was running around 300hp on his 06 sti with just an exhaust and a verso ... pity he didnt check the oil

yehh i was but im terrible at making my mind up, plus ive found nothing else atm rotary wise that im willing to buy, and ive got some $ to do away with so mayaswell go to the rex its sooo slow even as a daily, needs some more spice in it |

Yeh his car was a freak though! I had 320hp with FMIC, CAI, TD05, Headers and exhaust and tune. Turbo, Zorst and tune will get you 300 or bloody close too it. |
what about aftermarket ecus? what is generally the best option?

You don't need one if your only planning 300hp. Would be a waste of money. MoTeC or Autronics would be your first choices though.

3" TBE K&N Panel Filter Resonectomy VERSO Tune Pulls 280HP with 390Nm on the ASG Hub Dyno. I'm also looking for that extra 20HP to make the 300HP mark |

how strong are the later model standard WRX (not sti) boxes? can they handle much in the way of power? |
the later model 5 speed boxes are definately stronger than the GC8 ones. keep your clutch soft and you'll be good.

Im jelous of all your torque with the 2.5's! only have 342nm with a 2.0ltr!
And arent the 5 speed gearboxes from an old design? I still think to be on the safe side upgrade the gearsets or get a 6speed.. or have money ready i dont know |

Still with the STi Top mount. Shows just shy of 200KW atw on a Mainline but I think it suffers on the dyno from the top mount. Goes great on the road. |

I've been looking at a similar power figure, im looking at going the GTSP02 and maybe a STi TMIC, however will need to get an STi manifold to make it fit

I've got an 05 USDM STI inlet manifold with DBW throttle body if you want, pm meh |
