Bumping the old school.

I need new shoes, currently got toyo proxes T1, been happy with them but like to experiment.

Thoughts and opinions welcome especially if anything's changed since this thread began.

Been quoted 220 a tyre, fitted.

What size were you quoted that?

I rang up about a month ago to get some 215/45/17 and everywhere seemed to quote me 250 a corner fitted.

Just put a new set on the sti (235/45/17)
Have the old set still if anybody wants them?
(just off tread wear indicators, still plenty of meat on them tho, make an offer)

They are an awesome tire, best in their price range (perth prices)
nice and sticky & predictable, but don't wear stupidly fast, decent in wet,
not overly noisy (nothing compared to muddies haha)
Very good sideways hold, lack a bit of 'launch' traction, but hey, its not a tractor lol
Balance very well, and overall a quality tire, happy to buy them again

Thanks for you view of these.

Maybe using these for TSW, Pemberton in May more than likely there will be rain, rather than Advan 050s (plus their much cheaper)

Great bang for buck cheap track hack tyre.

I run them on my stock 17's for Barbagallo. For the price, can't really complain with the performance. They are a bit nervous in the wet though that could come down to car-setup, driving style, etc.

As a daily they aren't too bad. I managed 20,000kms out of them with 5 tuning arvo's and 2 skidpans thrown in with daily work.

Is there any one here that has used both the KU36/AD08 tyres?
Looking for some real world comparisons (wet & dry weather, turn in, noise, etc) for these tyres.
Have found something on TireRack but wasn't too sure if the results would be the same here.

Edit: should note that I'm currently using AD08s on my car.

Got them on today, unbelievably happy with grip level both wet and dry, they are noisy at 100+ but 0 fcuks are given, let's see how long they last.
