Yeah mate, I shit you not I was driving the car in a normal manner. Was slowing down to take a roundabout, downshifted into second then clack clack clack clack clack CRUNCH. Heard a rattling/fluttering noise about 30mins earlier that I disregarded as something stuck in a vent or under the car somewhere. Must have been a tiny piece of a gear tooth or something floating around in the box, had a bad shift on Saturday on a cruise and a bit 'o metal must have got jammed and shredded my 2nd gear.

Either way I'm up for a new box, a rebuild will cost more than just buying a used gearbox. Anyone got a spare box lying around... preferably with straight cut 1st and 2nd gears haha... ?

Unlucky, have you got a heavy duty clutch? And if your making alot of power you may save in the end by doing a 6 spd conversion, or the straight cut.

A rebuilt GB would get you back on the road though, shouldnt cost much more than 2k ish..? Some very helpful people on this website if you know who to ask. Dtrally (Doug) can give you any information on gearboxes he is very knowledgable.

Spotted Prodigy's ride at Wheels World today - love the wheels also a couple hot looking Porkas and Phizzle's GC8 getting some serious upgrades on suspension and wheels.
