Default HID kits are illegal

Hi all,

Not sure if this is a known fact, but took the car over the pits today and got another licky for the HID lights. This was done at Midland DPI.

Also got told that its a must that all mods need to have permits for yellow stickers to be removed. Got given a modification application for light vehicles and told to submit this, wait for permit to arrive then can take the yellow off.

Now I've had a few yellow stickers over the years and this is the first i've heard of this ..... anyone been caught with this issue or able to shed some light about it??

Yeah I have heard that before. Could also be the guys at the pits stuffing you around, due to the position of sticker etc.

Was it an Indian guy that looked over it? He is a cunt.

You're definately getting boned.

True, mods need permits, but ou get the permit papers there and then. The inspector writes the allowed mods onto the permit slip ( 5 per page ). He signs it and gives it to you to stash in your glovie.

Why were they deemed illegal? Surely theres a reason for it.

I enquired about buying them once, and the guy at the shop said they were illegal if they didn't auto level and if they didn't have the thingo to wash them. Apparently light can disperse because of dirt and dead bugs...

"To shine white to front"

and with that told that you can't have blue headlights ...... told him they're HID's and said they're still illegal. Told me i also have orange park lights as well .... thats the indicator buddy!!!

You haven't been able to have blue coloured lights since the year time began, be it halogen or HID.
