Default Xtreme HD Clutch

Is anyone running this clutch in their Suby, would like some feedback??

http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_...oducts_id=4498

This has about 2800 pound clamping force.

I have also been quoted on a couple of clutch's from Jim Berry :-

1) Supply new kit with cover modified to 3300lbs with organic driven plate and release bearing $1050.00+freight and tax

2) 3 as above but with HD " " " 3500lbs " organic " " " " " $1150.00 " " "

What do ya all reckon??

cheers

I've seen on 2 occasions, an Xtreme clutch explode and rip firewalls and engine bays apart. One was a Mazda RX7 and the other was a Holden VL Turbo.

For this reason, I'd never run one in my car. Even though they may be fine now, or maybe it was a once (or twice) off situation, I thought it was never worth the risk to run them in my cars.

i cant confirm but have also heard on 2 different occasions them ripping apart.
you really wouldn't think they would be able to with R&D these days, but who knows.

i went with a Exedy Racing Clutch stage 1 with is organic with 2900lbs clamping force.
i had one in the car and had auto clutch rebuild it for 550
I am happy with it and these clutches don't really make the pedal effort any more than oem which is good for gt eastern hwy at 7am

A friend (ex-work collegue) of mine had an Xtreme clutch in his CA18DET powered Silvia (high mount etc) that blew and pieces of it cut through the chassis rails rendering it a write-off of sorts. Imagine your foot if one of these bits hit it My advice is to stay away

i use a extreme on the end of 6 speed, but is a ceramic type, its not a full face material, but has gaps in between, not a puck type... so far so good, it hooks up well. on my beast, yet easy to drive...........
