TEIN Super Street Damper Coilovers

As we all know when we think of TEIN suspension, sore ass comes to mind :o

But the good ppl at Fulcrum (Aust distributor) apparently redesign these to suit the Aust road conditions. Anyone tried it or know someone who has? Any feedback would be appreciated.

BALISTC 10-11-2005 11:13 AM

Apparently they dont go low enough for some people...

waxdass 10-11-2005 11:14 AM

decent and one of the cheaper coilovers on the market.

you can also hook up the electronic damper control onto them

Subaru00 10-11-2005 11:21 AM

they feel and handle really good. not harsh at all
not alot of height adjustment

Rexilla 10-11-2005 11:31 AM

wow, apparantly the product's only been here 3mths and you guys tried already!

i am not into the "fozzy dump" style of lowering, a couple of fingers height between the guard & the wheels is all i need.:D

what's the reason these are cheaper compare to other big brands like whiteline or H&R? what's the trade off here? (they're not much cheaper if you add the electronic damper adjustment gadget thingy)

Bakks 10-11-2005 11:43 AM

Fozzy's style is weak :)

They will be low enough for what you are after in that case. They are meant to be the most comfortable of the Tein range and I think they are pretty cheap. But if you say with EDFC they are close to G4 price range then I'd stretch to the G4's.

I was curious about them a few months ago too..

Subaru00 10-11-2005 11:54 AM

at the lowest setting my back tyre is inline with the wheel arch and front wheel arch is about 20mm above the tyre.

pmh 10-11-2005 01:03 PM

what is defined as cheap?

Bakks 10-11-2005 01:12 PM

Well they are the cheapest of the Tein range. I think they are about $2,500 from one of the local places?

waxdass 10-11-2005 01:14 PM

there was a set going for $1500 on rampant.net.au

REXESS 10-11-2005 01:24 PM

i went to the launch of these on tues nite, there about $2200 for a scoobie set

the electronic adjustment thingy is orsm :D can change yuh set up at the touch of a button. another bit of bling

stinga 10-11-2005 02:00 PM

Benzilla $1648 brand new :)

Rexilla 10-11-2005 02:05 PM
Benzilla $1648 brand new :)
heh?

a set of H&R will be $3500 installed compare to TEIN $2500 installed ($3300 with the bling thingy)........ decisions, decisions.........

i am not hardcore enough for G4s..............

BLUES 10-11-2005 02:11 PM

G4's will only cost you another 500 on top of H&R's & 700 on top of the Teins with EDC

Rexilla 10-11-2005 02:21 PM

yeah for someone who doesn't do much (if any) track work at all, $4k is a bit hard to justify............ just want a set of good quality suspension for a daily driven car who sees runabouts as challenges rather than deterrants :D

x-speed offered to put one set on (TEIN) and if it's shit, they will remove it without charge.........seriously thinking about it.

BLUES 10-11-2005 02:23 PM

i'd say 2500-3500 is impossible to justify for 100% street duties - your call.

Rexilla 10-11-2005 02:35 PM
i'd say 2500-3500 is impossible to justify for 100% street duties - your call.
yeah if i spend the $$$ i will just have to go hardcore on da track to justify the expenditure :D

Subaru00 10-11-2005 02:46 PM

$2240 from xspeed. for gc8

stinga 10-11-2005 02:52 PM

Is that fitted?

Fozzy 10-11-2005 02:56 PM

come on 7 inches from standard is a pretty good effort

so leave me alone

Subaru00 10-11-2005 03:15 PM
