Autowatch alarm issues (Luna car Audio rant)

You might recall that I had some issues when I had the alarm fitted to my STI.

Luna Car Audio fitted the incorrect system and tried to deny it.
I had to waste my own time to get them to sort out their fuck up.

They also said they'd send me the external wireless PIR sensor for my garage free of charge due to their mistake, which they never did.

Fast forward to Saturday evening when my car would start but only run on the turbo timer......had to drive home from Fob's place with the hand brake up 2 clicks and keep increasing the T/T time to keep it running.

Today I pulled the drivers side dash apart to check the ignition wiring harness etc.

What did I find?

1.> The ignition circuit interupt (alarm) wiring from the ignition switch harness to the alarm: Diode so hot that the insulation tape over it had cooked solid! poor soldering (dry joint) creating intermittant contact/ resistance & heat (hence t/timer cutting in when ignition was interrupted), solder job so poor that the wiring either side of the diode had become disconnected (electrical tape holding the joint together).

2.> Main 12 v feed to the alarm module: They tapped in to the +12v feed to the ignition switch harness by cutting the insulation back on the +12v line and merely wrapped the alarm feed wire around it and used insulation tape to hold the wires in contact with each other.....>>>NO FUCKING SOLDER AT ALL<<<< This is the main alarm module power supply.....Un Fucking believeable!!

3.> Interior led wasn't working: Again No SOLDER on it's leads! Wires heat shrinked to the led's pins........Cock heads!

4.> Driver door window switch module: Retaining tab snapped off due to someone forcing it out from the wrong end, the muppets have used double sided tape to hold it in the door.........

5.> Rattle in driver's door: Screw missing from inner door handle reinforcement.........reinforcement rattling/squeeking againt inner door frame.

I never named them before but after today FUCK THEM!!

NEVER EVER DEAL WITH [U]LUNA CAR AUDIO!!

<<<RANT OFF!>>>

That is so f#cked!!!

If you want a quality auto-electrician to sought it out I can highly recommend, Ashley Electrical. I have used them and so have some of the members off here.
Hope you get it all sorted mate.

Looks like someone's dropped the ball 'eh. :) So where to now Ross, take it back and risk the dodgyness, take matters into your own hands, or a bit of both? ;)

I saw the diode, its was crap. Solder joint indicated that they
were also smoking a joint.

For everyone else interested, x2 on ashley electrical. They did the alarm
and cruise control in my old MY99 "Wendy" with no probs.

But further to this, I now install all my own gear. That way I know
its done right.

Sorted it all out myself.

As Fobs said do it yourself where possible (if there wasn't a brandt installed I would have done the alarm myself).

These clowns USED to get work from my dealership too, not anymore!!
