Default 200K Service + brakes

Hi Guys,

I will try to give you information overload to help me with my queries.

I have a MY99 WRX thats sitting on around 195K at present. I'm not looking forward to the dreaded 200K service I was wondering who you guys would recommend? The previous owner that had the vehicle had it log booked services at Ultratune. Should I go to these guys for the big service?

Also I have worn rotors and pads and was thinking I should get everything I need done whilst I get the service. What brand should I go for? I would be looking at slightly above stock with slotted rotors and some decent pads.

Thirdly I need the starter moter reconditioned as it doesnt retract properly and i get a squeeling noise.

So onto my questions;

Who should I get the 200K service from?
What Pads and Rotors should I go for?
How much do you think the 200K + Brakes + stater motor cost?

and finally should I get anything else looked at / changed whist my baby is under the knife? (so to speak)

Looking forward to your replies!

Cheers,

Matt

personally i wouldnt use ultratune for a performance car, especially a wrx, had major fuck ups with them before.

pads and rotors could go for a slotted dba 4000 set and ebc green stuff pads, bendix ultimates or ferodo 2500's, i had it done on my last wrx it cost me $650 fitted on all 4 corners.

as the for the service just any performance workshop, rms, mms, all star etc.

Yep... NEVER take a performance car to average joes garage. You
just know that everyone there is taking it for a thrash around the
block coz they are sick of all the magna's they serviced the day before.

Take it to Subaru or one of the performance workshops on here. Like
others have said, there can be some savings had with the help of
fellow WRX owners on the forum.

Don't knock ultratune. My regular mechanic I used for my services + major service is the most honest and reliable I have used.

Do not knock ultratune! The shop in Bunbury is very reliable! Debra and Seane Stone are honest, genuine and have built and serviced track cars, and i know of another STi that is regularly taken there. They did my brakes and service and im impressed.
