Default Pits, best one for inspections?

Hi all,

Seeing as a lot of people have had different experiances with different
pit inspection centres.

I was wondering what is the general consensus when it comes to which pits
are the best places to go for vehicle inspections.

Have to get an interstate vehicle inspected and licensed next week.

Cheers,

Wayno

Yeah ive been to Warwick before when i had to take
my new 07 over, but they wanted the stamp duty straight
away otherwise they wouldn't register the car.

That was in late 07

DPI told me today i have 28days to pay and don't need to pay
on the spot.

Anyone been to East Perth or Welshpool?

Pits are pits and wheather you have been 100 times or 1 chances are you will get a different inspector from what most of us say and could end up even worse but from my once and only time being over in welshpool the guy was a very fair dude. He noticed i had coilovers when my exhaust scraped on the concrete whilst entering the pit. He told me once i leave to raise it a wee bit and i wouldnt have dramas in the future. He noticed one of my coilover rings were loose and let me know to tighten it. Helped me with some permits and showed me how they inspect the height of the car.

Pretty cool guy.

Went to Midland end of last year. Book in a couple of weeks in advance, then you can just rock up at whatever time you booked, and your out in half hour. The guy i had there was pretty decent too.

I've only ever used East Perth and all I have to say is 'do the right thing by them and they'll do the right thing by you'.

When ever I have to go over the pits I spend a considerable amount of time cleaning my car, both inside and out as well as under the bonnet (imo shows that you have a little respect for them), after that I check that all the basics are working i.e lights are all working, windscreen washer bottle is full and works efficiently as well as checking all over for any signs of rust and wear (when being pinged in my older cars).

I've never had any trouble at East Perth, though the main problem is due to them having only two pitts 'not sure about other pits', if you're not there by about 9-10am good luck getting anything sorted by early afternoon or on the day period 'this is mainly due to a lot of dealers loading up their teams with five, six cars in a row.

The guys at East Perth are the same since when I was going there from first getting my licence, now some of their kids are working there, no point spinning shit to them as they have heard it all before.

In short: Show some respect, present your vehicle respectfully and I'm sure you'll get over first time, and be let go if you have some minnor flaws (I know I have been)

Though when using East Perth: Just get there as early as possible or kiss your whole day goodbye.
