All i can say is thank god he was ok...But have to agree, why didnt the airbags go off?

Airbags are designed to only go off in a very defined set of circumstances. They can cause more harm that good if they are not needed.

Side impact bags dont go off in a roll over. and the frontal impact does not look severe enough for the airbag wheel to go off...in fact it looks like the brunt of the impact was taken on the rear end and roof.
