I went to welsphool pits paid $30 and for a permit list
went to the pit and guys said u dont need perimits i said maybe not but i said cops were hasseling me.. so i was trying to do the right thing.. really i never had trouble from cops but tried to make the guy change his mind..

he goes away comes back totally different attitude.. said what u want on the list
covered me for everything..

Steering wheel aftermarket
Guage a pillar .
FMIC
Exhuast
Lowered Springs
Mags

Ill be going again once i get the new car..

so do they inspect the car at all, are they suppose too ? or just issue permit certificates. I would assume they still inspect it to make sure whats fitted is legal ?

NVRENUF 30-12-2005 08:30 PM

Well they only inspect what u ask them to .. but the guy i got didnt even bother looking he just asked me what i wanted on list had a quick glance and that was it.. didnt test exhuast didnt read rims or load rating thank god.. and didnt say anything
was so easy i kept a copy of the permit so when i need them again ill go see same guy..

yeah cos i havent got any for mine and was thinking of doing the same to avoid the hassle if god forbid i do have a run in with the cops.

Excuse my ignorance on this matter, my only real concern i guess is if you fail to get a permit because a mod doesnt meet all legal criteria, e.g. exhaust too loud, do you have to rectify it ? like you would if you got pulled over and given a yellow sticker ?

NVRENUF 30-12-2005 09:02 PM

if it doesnt pass just means they wont give u permit they wont do anythign else...

but goto welshpool they are not bad there.

and yeah i didnt know what to do either i just rocked up there and hoped for the best and turned out welll..

worth doing just to help out in some situations..

thanks for all the info, think will give it a go like you did. Got a whole lot of shit on the car, has me worried everytime i see a patrol heh.

NVRENUF 30-12-2005 09:21 PM

yeah it feels good once u have that paper.. the guy who brought my car off me got pulled over and they went over the whole car and saw permits.. was all good..
so the permits saved him lol...

If you have ANYTHING illegal on your car, dont bother with permits. Its not going to stop you getting yellowed ;)

IE, getting permits for your POD, gauges, suspension etc etc is great but if the cops can still here your BOV 3 miles away or cant see you through your 5 grade tine, your going to get yellowed for that instead. Come inspection day, those things that would have been permitted, will still pass!
