PRICE: $299.99

An Air/Oil Separator has one job, remove the oil from the engine ventilation system so the oil does not get sent through the intake system.

The GrimmSpeed AOS is unique as it allows you to maintain your PCV Valve while separating the oil out of the crankcase and head ventilation air! Our AOS will allow your engine to run more efficiently due to the separation of oil from the intake system. When there is oil in your system, the result is 1) reduced fuel octane 2) higher chance of engine knock(detonation) 3) worse emissions 4) higher oil consumption. Our AOS will solve all of these problems.

In GrimmSpeed fashion, we have made a very compact unit that packs a powerful punch(and looks good while doing it)!

No more having to check/empty your catch can and refilling your oil. The GrimmSpeed AOS coalesces oil without using a mesh media. Mesh medias can cause contaminates to collect and build up resulting in possible sludge. Our AOS is self maintained so you can just sit back, stop worrying, and enjoy driving your car!
Replaces oil cap for a self-sufficient design that requires ZERO maintenance!

Looks like a pretty good system, similar to Explicit's Prova one. Apparently the prova one's tend to rub the plastic cap on the bonnet so Grimmspeed have made a sunken lid for better clearance but the idea is the same

Thoughs?

BALISTC 20-01-2010 08:16 PM

Prova one actually has a metal cap.. and yes it rubs on the bonnet.

Yep prova one fouls on the bonnet a little. GS unit looks great and good value. I've plumbed mine from all 3 breather outlets as well. System works, perfect the weekend warrior!

Prova cap is an option Guiseppe.

The oil/air seperator's really show their worth when doing some track time. I noticed after laps at wanners there'd be fresh oil around the collection collar of the seperator. My experience of rexes doing laps at wanners tends to show a good bit of oil in the ole oil catch can, even to the point of flooding the breather on the passenger side head due to the number right hand turns ( you would need to be carrying consistent G's for this extreme however). Very good investment for the weekend motorsport enthusiast. Or under bonnet ricer :D

I find my catch can empty at collie, but topped to the brim after an RAC/DTEC day. worthwhile!

these are cheaper than hypertec catch cans, even with postage included! Thanks strong oz dollar..
