Forward facing manifold

Not sure if that's the correct name for them. But after the inlet manifold's that have the throttle body facing forward towards the front of the car, to suit Ej20T (97 wrx). Where can i get one from and whats a ball park figure for one of these.

cheers
chris.

Same manifold, just spun around.

A bit of dicking around is needed to remount stuff.

redlib 17-04-2010 04:24 PM

Ahhh true didnt thinking it was possible to do that, but now i no might do that.

Hurtenstein 17-04-2010 04:26 PM

Bit of messing around with alternator/aircon relocation too.

With 99/00 its better to use a GD manifold as the TB is in a better spot. But unfortunately for you, a GD manifold wont fit 97 heads.

redlib 17-04-2010 04:29 PM

do they fitt 99/00 head just bought a written of wrx thinking about rebuilding the engine in that and making it strong to push some decent hp.

redlib 17-04-2010 04:32 PM

or get on of those high mounted manifolds that stick up higher than the alternator and aircon. if thats what your talking about. but hey who needs aircon. what windows are for.

Hurtenstein 17-04-2010 04:32 PM

Yep, GD manifold will bolt onto 99/00 heads, but you'll need GD injectors and fuel rails too.
Which is a good thing as they can be made to flow 816cc with about 5 minutes work.
Also, the TB sits closer to centre of the block to the GC manifold, which means you'll need a little bit of dicking around with intercooler piping, or a longer silicone joiner. But as it looks like you're flipping it, you'll need custom piping anyway.

yer i read that somewere might do that, seems simple enough to do. can do anything if you put the time and effort into it. cheers for the help man.

I have a feeling that on the 97/98 that it isnt as simple as just turning the manifold around. Muggz has one for sale here; http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthread.php?t=11817

Might be worth asking him what the difference is.

pre 99 the manifold needs to be chop chopped, they aren't symetrical. too hard basket, get my99+ heads and manifold, my01+ even better
