wanting a cold air intake for my05 wrx was wondering which one and were to get it from as iv not been in oz to long and dont know the places

go for a drive up to the snowy mountains in winter time, you'll get a fair intake of cold air then.

Try maybe prospeed racing, get a silicone turbo inlet which reportedley increases flow by up to 30 percent and get a decent panel filter for the standard airbox, this is accordig to some the optimum intake setup on the GD series rexes

personally, even after many years, i'm not convinced a cold air intake in a wrx is hugely effective compared to a basic secured pod filter in the engine bay.

keep the stock box and get a good aftermarket panel filter unless you are planning to upgrade the turbo / i/c to something much bigger. CAI or even pod will just be a waste of $$ and will make tuning your car harder..spend money on brakes and suspension upgrades I suggest.

APS CAI has served me well! Hot engine bay air can't be good? Even the OE setup with the airbox seems to be designed to draw air from just under the bonnet lip, albeit a much longer route to the turbz.

I've always thought the CAI was more of a safety thing to stop it pinging on hot days - It doesn't give big power gains. A silicone intake would be cheaper with a resonarectomy or whatever you call it.

for a stocker i would remove the in-guard resonator & go with an apexi dry panel filter in stock air box and fit a silicon y-pipe
