Western Australia WRX Prices VS East Coast
For all those that are looking at buying a WRX in the near future, check out the wrxs over east, i'm checking out prices for myself as i'm in the market.... theres my97 98 and 99s for about 13K, with forged internals, sti running gear, exhaust kits, sti gearboxes, pretty much everything you'd want, VS the 20K or more people are asking here...
any ideas why things are so much more expensive over here?? |
smaller population = less cars. Its basic supply and demand.
Plus there is the $800-1500 or so to ship it from over east plus getting it over the pits to consider too. But yes, I have seen some nice clean looking my99/00's with average kms going for 8-9k over east in the last year or two. |
You will also need to pay stampduty on the car after the car has been through the pits.
|
Cars also start off cheaper over there as their stamp duties
aren't as high as ours. |

But if you can, register it there and pay the stamp duty there. I did this as the dealer was obliging and because you can show it is stamped already over east you dont pay it again here :headbang: All done from WA  |
so just to clear things up, lets just say, you took a $200 flight over there, had a look, purchased the car, did all the paperwork and whatnot, drove it back here. would you still have to put it over the pits?

thanks :) sounds like a bit of a nightmare if you're purchasing something that has had mods.... bugger... that rules out my plan then :P

I thought you needed an address in the state you were registering it in otherwise you pay the stamp duty in the state you reside?
