Default Bugeye WRX sti CV boot

All,

After servicing my car yesterday, I found half the CV boot under the driver's side is missing. The car is drivable but I have parked it until I get a chance to fix this.

I am not sure if this is something that's worth changing at home?

I live in Canning Vale and wanted advise on the closest workshop to take the car and replace the CV boot?

Thanks

Do not drive it without a CV boot.. although if you already have, there is a good chance that most of the grease is gone and you may have already damaged the CV.

If you're somewhat mechanically savvy, you can buy a boot kit for under $20 and change it at home. I did my rears recently and it took me around an hour to do the whole job.

Correct most of the grease is gone and hopefully the CV is still good.

What size socket is the drive shaft nut that's located in the middle of the brake rotor?

get plenty of degreaser/brake cleaner in there to clean out that grease too.

Thanks guys, ill have to buy the socket and boot kit and give it a go next weekend. I will look up the DIY for it as I have changed a drive shaft on a camry before.

Any tips with the WRX?
