Yeah but yours is a different case Marty.

Jess, not often at all. Generally one for $9k would be the older 99 GT's with high km's & probably not perfect. A later model GT (00-02) would be probably $10-15k dependng on condition.

I am not surprised, like i said in my earlier post, for 20k you can get a later model for the same price and kms.

For reference, we just sold our 1999 GT Forester for exactly $12k and I still reckon the buyer got a bargain. (The car really was perfect: one owner and babied all its life.) When we listed it on one of the car sales sites the 'suggested price range' was about $7500-$8800, which is so far off it's not funny.

Finance companies have to go by the quoted book value in case of repossession, but it still sucks. Hope things work out and you get the car of your dreams.

yeah it also really depends on the general condition of the car and the spec, a luxury pack with full leather, heated front seats, massive moonroof will cost a couple of grand more than a stock GT in similar condition/km

high km always puts alot of people off due to resale and the thought of impending engine replacement towards the mid 200,000 k mark

like said above, try and get a personal loan where the car is not assurity on the loan & you can choose whatever you want
