Yes, especially if it's a gd, very sensitive to air flow changes. Dont know about the gc's though someone else can clarify that.

In relation to the OP as said, legal if it sits in the guard. Black piping as opposed to the norm s/s intake pipes also make it look more "factory"

are u fucking serious it needs a tune? u got to be kidding me i can not think why letting the car suck air in easier, not more just the sdame air with less strain change ur standard ecu settings

I suggest this is not a good bang for buck mod for your car. Might I suggest an aftermarket air filter for your stock box?
