I ran s drives for a couple of months on the rs. I found them to be an excellent tyre. Plenty of grip and it gave me alot more confidence in the car... So much So I cracked a set of front brake rotors.

Tech 9 will push whatever tyres they feel like at the time (over stocked, or biggest profit margin - like any business) My mate rang up for his evo about 4 months ago, and got told Nexen N6000's were the shit, then I rang up 3 weeks later and asked about 19's for my mrs VE Commodore, and got told N6000's were the best (value, clearly, because I doubt they are the best tyre) The guy on the phone then proceeded to tell me about Antilag running them, and how they were 1 second a lap slower around Barb's than R-comps, which I recon is complete shit.

If you are looking for a tyre that will be a good one on the street, plus one you can use on the track should you decide to go out there, I had Yokohama S drives on my STI, and I loved them. They weren't cheap, but think about this... other than your tyres, what's actually keeping your car on the road... is it worth skimping out on them... on a daily / bunky / family car, get whatever... If you plan on pushing your car, how much is your life worth?

End of the day it all comes to preference. I had heard good things about the Sdrives and so I chose them, and I was happy. Others may not be, but for what I wanted/needed, they delivered.
Told me the same thing when I was there with a friend who was getting stuff done to his car...

In regards to the OP it is as what others have said, dont skimp on tyres. Save the pennies and get some Bridgestones/Yoko's/Mich's/Dunlops or if you don't mind the tyre wearing a bit quicker....some grippy as f**k in the dry Kuhmo KU36s (but im biased about those because I run them hahaha).

Go Bridgestones, Yoko's, Michelin, Dunlop, Pirelli.
Stick to what you know is good quality.
As previously said this is what connects you to the road, dont go cheap.

Stay away from Achillies, Maxxis, Durun

Not worth scrimping on rims either whilst you're at it, make sure the ones you are buying don't weigh 10kg ea more than the ones you already have, std are 16-17kg with tyres, I had a really nice light looking set on my Bug & they pulled 23kg ea with tyres on the scales.....not good

Your car will explode due to being a Subaru way before the tyres are an issue.

If these are the Nexxens renamed, they are a decent street tyre.

God knows why any of you are rating them as a track tyre, they are not designed for major track use

I have new rims & tyres from Tech9 with Nexen rubber, at the moment they seem fine, very good in the wet they don't handle to bad.
