Carsales club Spec IV...

Hey folks,

Just seen this on carsales, something's not right but i can't put my finger on it:

What do you guys think, its a huge amount of someones work to sell for $18990..

SPEC IV 18-02-2011 08:05 PM

Thats a member on here "bloomer" I think.

MY99GT 18-02-2011 08:06 PM

if its all above board, thats a monster of a car for sub $20k!

The urge to trade mine in is strong...

BoxorBeast 18-02-2011 08:28 PM
Thats a member on here "bloomer" I think.
Blommer*** and I don't believe he is the current owner of the vehicle.

Gut feeling there's something not right about it either, wouldn't know until you go inspect it first hand.

Jordiee 18-02-2011 08:30 PM

it's just that decal on the side..

BoxorBeast 18-02-2011 08:34 PM

^^ LUL Jordan... you're probably right hey... don't know about that naruto sticker....

fsk 18-02-2011 08:37 PM

it was 24k a few months back

MY99GT 18-02-2011 08:42 PM

thats what makes me wonder.. there's no way someone is chucking away all that cash unless something is up with it. I dread to think how much has been spent on that car!

fsk 18-02-2011 08:52 PM

i think its just alittle to outthere for most people, a car with that many mods only appeals to a small group. Also a good example of $$$ spent doesnt mean big increase in value

teejay 18-02-2011 08:52 PM

End of the day its a 10 year old mass produced jap shitbox.

The market is dead atm, so even with mods, its going to struggle to sell.

MY99GT 18-02-2011 09:02 PM

I'm going to be in the market for an MY99 or 00 STI shortly... hence why i'm trawling carsales tonight :)

jasonmurray 18-02-2011 09:43 PM

Previous hail damage??

Pablo668 18-02-2011 10:28 PM

Seen that car a few times on car sales.
To be honest, it's the big ugly graphic on the side that turns me off, not sure I like the body kit either. To be fair, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all, but I firmly believe the more you do that kind of thing to that car, the less likely it is that other people will like it.
You craft a car to your specific vision, you kinda narrow the field of those who would like to buy it/be happy to be seen driving it around.

This is the same for Tilly's GC8 she's trying to sell, the car seems fine, but that paint job, the changy colour from different angle thing, to me it makes it look like a cheap Red Dot toy car. Some people love it, though I wouldn't think it would be that many.

That's my 2 cents.

Agree, not a lot of people have much spare cash at this time and that car only appeals to a handful of people in WA.

Shodown 21-02-2011 09:55 AM

I think the fact the decal says "styled to race" and the owner is advertising it as a "weekend car" most people would assume it has been thrashed / tracked on weekends....

Kato 21-02-2011 10:10 AM

I'm unsure what the fuss is about?

It's a GC8 with a 6 speed, VF34, PowerFC, coilovers and a body kit.

$23k original price is too high. $18k is better, but at the upper end.

westoz 21-02-2011 10:36 AM

HEY!!! I take exception to that! :p My GC8 is a mass produced Jap work of art!:p:p:p

XT43 21-02-2011 11:19 AM

American Dave likes this

fsk 21-02-2011 11:29 AM

id probably sell mine and grab that one if the body was stock with those mods and only 58k its decent bang for buck imo, just like ssjcomso(i think??) a car thats hard to sell due to the body

easytiger 21-02-2011 11:40 AM
I think the fact the decal says "styled to race" and the owner is advertising it as a "weekend car" most people would assume it has been thrashed / tracked on weekends....
poser sticker imo but mechanically its been done very well

put the bodykit in a skip bin, peel off those stickers and enjoy the quality mechanicals/mods at a fair price

Strubaru 21-02-2011 12:21 PM

i tend to agree, once dericed the paintjob isn't that bad, decent mechanical mods inc 6 speed, vf34 and powerfc + low km make this a good buy for the money imho

RUSSGT 21-02-2011 12:28 PM

+ the z32 AFM. All been done propperly IMO.

mARC 21-02-2011 01:36 PM

WRP10's are a peice of shit, I have never driven one, never done any research on them or never inspected one. I just know they are.

Jezza 21-02-2011 02:03 PM

Great input.

Sarcasm off/on topic:
I agree with Kato etc - price was initially high to try make back what the mods are worth, but then cut down to a more realistic price figure given current market.

No idea where that came from, but thanks... i think?

REXXXED 21-02-2011 04:04 PM

Blommers old car looked and went very well! The pearl flake in the paintwork looked amazing in the sunlight. Dont dig the decals etc though....

If anyone is looking for a Club Spec IV specifically, mine will be on the market whenever i get around to taking pics and posting up the for sale thread. Just FYI just in case anyone come's across this thread and is interested.
Stock as a rock engine wise, 115XXX Kms. Fantastic condition, 22B style adjustable spoiler, STI front lip
For Sale thread to follow soon with further details/price/pics etc

nixwrc 21-02-2011 04:51 PM

I like the car clean as a gc8 should be wish mine looked like that

V3 RA 21-02-2011 05:14 PM

I actually understood the point of one of your posts for once Mark!

He is indicating that few of us have actually seen the car, driven the car or know any details about it...yet we're making judgements based on a few pics. Rip the decals off, lose the gay body work and you have a good looking, quick street car. All for a very decent price!

MY99GT 21-02-2011 06:47 PM

edit**i give up, the reason for my posts has obviously been mis-understood. meh.

jasonmurray 21-02-2011 09:53 PM

Anyone actually know the "real" condition of the car currently?

_ShadowZ 21-02-2011 11:19 PM

Styled to race is a lo-jack auto store owned by our friends from the far east. I've seen the car in the flesh it is very over dressed but the custard pearl paintwork is nice. Ask Doug (dtrally) about the owner & car I'm sure he's worked on it a couple of times I first saw it at his house and met the owner.

BoxorBeast 21-02-2011 11:40 PM

I don't believe blommer (Jian) from S2R is the current owner of the car.
