Issue 10 of Tarmac
Hi
Just got the latest Tarmac mag, its got a MY11 STi and one of the MMS 2008 STi 2.0l on the cover with the head line "Find out how this STi outpaces Lamborghinis! Also reviewed are 16 on board cameras, and a small run down on the 2011 Spec Cs of which 10 are coming here to Australia, and 3 pre sold. Twin scroll, mechanical rear LSD, for apparently low $40K. Intercooler spray is mounted in the engine bay and not on the bonnet. (Rally rego only) |
Where did you find a copy, i have a prick of a time getting my hands on them!
|
Our work does a bit of advertising with them, they usually drop a copy or 2 of to us every issue. I'll see if our contact is able to get a few extra copies out to me, if they can i'm happy to mail some out to people.
|
I got one this arvo easily. All decent newsagents will have it.
|
In the letters (Pace notes) they mention that, they have changed Publishers to Fairfax, as the previous one went bust, should be easier now.

thank you
If not its only $8.95, and this is one of the thickest I've seen. I feel I need a Nauli on this, I don't work, submit articles, photos or in anyway associated with Tarmac Mag, but its one of my favorite mags, (Speed is also up there, and is 4WD Action, but thats another thing) Hate how its still only quarterly. Love the you tube links :) |
^ Agree.
That & not a chrome wheel in sight. Dean Herridge's STi hatch on the front. |

just like the last spec c's to come down under, expect a few to pop up on my105 for sale after the fact!
|
Well it does say they are for privateers to run in tarmac events, perhaps via Subaru HQ, or via a well known privateer, (MMS perhaps as the car would need work to meet the CAMS (et al) requirements for the rallys.)

back to the hatch:3gears:
Mark, I call bullshit. If you are serious ring Phil Rogers at Subaru Australia. He does everything he possibly can to stop people racing Subaru's in his role as Subaru Motorsport Manager but he is the one that could tell you whether they are all sold or not. ON second thoughts just ring and abuse the retard. Otherwise talk to Rob at MMS as he will know who has them. If I was a betting man MMS will have at least one on order and Les Walkden will have at least two or three. Brendon |
That article would have been finalised a month or so ago though before going off for printing, so chances are at that price they are long gone.
|
does anyone have a copy of the issue with 'The Slug' on the cover? Only one I am missing from the collection....
pwease... |
Yes but no you can't have it :D
|
That article would have been finalised a month or so ago though before going off for printing, so chances are at that price they are long gone.
You would think that, but it states that in February they had sold 3, this month. :book1: |
Just says 3 are sold already & they got that quote in Feb, I'd imagine it would be very early Feb to make the publishing dealine.
|
I would say it is more that City Subaru can't sell them or don't make a cut or are sick of people asking to buy them so they all become sold.
As Brendon said, give them a ring and ask them why they don't bring in more if they sell out so fast! |
stand by for more....:tongue3:
|
Anyone know if you can get one from Livingston news agency?
|
Just get an evo X RS eh Brendon?
|
Just get an evo X RS eh Brendon?
At least you know that Heaphy @ TMR will help you. Phil Rogers is the subaru motorsport anti christ. How he is still employed there I will never know... Also TMR are actively out in the Tarmac Rally world trying to promote the sport and sponsor events. Rogers makes it like he is doing you a favour by supplying you a car...If he has any ...and can be bothered returning calls. If it was not for MMS and Les Walkden there would be bugger all subarus running at the pointy end of Tarmac rallies in this country. They all treat Rogers with the absolute contempt he deserves. was just at shops today and saw a lady holding this mag, i asked her hey do you like cars? She said yes and that her son in law was Rob Herridge!
just chatted to her for a while, small world hey? |
She said yes and that her son in law was Rob Herridge!
Maybe Dean Herridge's mother in law? Rob's inlaws don't live in WA. |
She'd have a few years on her if Rob was her son in law. :)
|
oh shit i meant Dean! my bad peeps, pardon me...
