Wanna get into a wrx but may have a baby coming along. Mrs ain't keen on the wrx but thinking of trying to bring her around with a wagon/hatch. Got a budget though so thinking 06/7 or an 08 in the 5 door.

Heard bad things about the 08 when I was looking a while ago.

Is the 08 worth it over the 06/7?

Get a Forester!

Welcome mate, i can't comment on the difference, but as mentioned, what about a forester? Still punchy and a great car. All the best with your searches :)

Buy a Forester XT, the wife will think its just another family wagon.
Lower and swap front calipers = wrx

As a personal preference I'd go the 07 over the 08 for the wrx

For starters... before everyone else jumps in with "other cars" its best you tell us your budget. Then we can realistically tell you what you should be looking at :)

Foresters do have more head room but thats about it. Floor pan is still the same as Impreza so get what suits you. I have a 96 Impreza wagon and 2 foresters. Be aware, there is not a huge amount of boot space once you start putting in prams etc.

Wow thanks guys. Budget is prob $25000 really but may be able to stretch to $30.

Was looking at the 2 liberty gt's in for sale forum and the "runforest" forester gt.

Library's prob a bit expensive and and forester prob a bit old. Might do some more research on foresters then :-)

Forresters are also, in my oppinion most likely less thrashed then a wrx too. Same engine, ect. WIN!
