Help with 06 impreza aerial

Hi all, i have recently purchased my wife an 06 impreza luxury, the aerial is built into the rear window. I have replaced the head unit and now there is no signal... If i plug another aerial in it works???? Is the aerial in the rear window powered??? Had a couple of mystery wires in the old wiring loom for the standard unit that i didnt use???

You need to connect the power antenna wire to get reception.

That will be the white wire at one end of the plug.

Anyone find that after doing this, that reception is still a bit iffy in certain areas?

In my car i made sure 12 volts was going to the power antenna wire....and most of the time the radio is fine, but for example the other day driving through vic park i was getting some annoying static....

yeh, connected the amp/aerial wire to the spare white wire in the original loom and bingo all sorted.... reception seemed fine even where i am in kinross which sometimes can be iffy....:D
