Default Car was stolen last week

Hey guys, my 1989 white rs legacy sedan was stolen 2 Saturdays ago, sadly i wasnt even in the state to do anything about it so my family dealt with it, car was found a day later and was scanned by forensics and is now at the insurance company.

so i got back yesterday and phoned the insurance company today, turns out my car is under discussion because they dont believe it was stolen, they think a car with an immobilizer cant be hot wired so they think it was a set up of some sort, is it possible to hotwire a car with an immobilizer? can i fight my insurance company?

Any immobilizer can be bypassed! Someone fitted it, someone can unfit it!

Wow you must be super attached to the car to not be able to file the forms yourself.

Is there anything wrong with it? Get thrashed or crashed?

Of course it is, you can bypass a immobilizer, by reconnecting the cut points

mum reckons she woke up to a car cruise at about 1 - 1:30am, said she heard a whole bunch of cars thrashing it around the neighborhood and a few neighbors heard it to, next day my car was gone so im guessing one of those cars being thrashed around was mine, i only got back to perth yesterday morning hence im looking into it now...it wasnt crashed but apparently the dash was ripped out and it had been wired up.

Most immobilisers can be bypassed quite easily. Thats harsh if they don't pay out

There's more than one way around an immobiliser so yes. They can't play that card without evidence anyway so if your car got stolen then you have nothing to worry about.

the only issue is it was only left a few streets away .. they are playing the (they had a key and an immobilizer) card.

It could have been people in the neighbourhood and there's no evidence or witnesses to prove how or who stole and dumped the car.
