Anyone have any experience buying hail damage vehicles ? Should this car be worth significantly less because of the hail damage on roof or do you's think it's just a no go zone ?

Thanks guys
Bought my 2001 forester GT with hail damage a few years back for $5k when the others in the market were sitting at about 8-10k.

As long as you don't mind a bit of cosmetic damage then it's great but if you want a good looking car I wouldnt go near it as it's nearly impossible/expensive to fix.

Hmm yes i see ... he said the worst part of the hail damage was the bonnet and he spent 2k to fix that . The roof he said he got quoted $800 to fix apparently . I have not viewed it yet though

Yeah I guess make a decision when you see it... Mine is quite bad but I use it to bush bash anyway so cosmetics aren't a big deal. get him to take that $800 off the price

$2k to 'fix a bonnet'? Does anyone know what these retail for second hand?

Default wnt 03 / 04 / 05 wrx wrb

Hi

Was looking at these 2 rexes. Opinions on both cars on price ect please.

I'll just write a brief description here:

1. ) Rota rims , std coils
https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/pert...wrx/1193401760

2. ) hks exhaust , apexi avcr.
https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/wils...wrx/1193206693

Ideally looking for a 05 wrx wrb low kms as possible for around the 10k mark. I don't know if that is unrealistic. Let me know if anyone is selling / know of a simular car. 03 / 04 / 05 wrx wrb.

With brief searching i have found few other rexes that are newer 06 / 07 / 08 roughly same kms or even a good 50k less for around simular price. I know there are heaps of variables but your opinions on the top 2 would be great.

Thank you

The first one with the smaller spoiler. First of all, he makes a point of service history, it has more “fruit” with it and looks like it’s been cared for despite the clear coat shenanigans on the roof (looks can be deceiving).

Secondly, the STI spoilered WRX has an Apexi AVCR. 15 years ago everyone thought they could play around with the settings and bump the boost up a bit and blah blah blah, but if you know anything about Dok Doks, it’s that they DOK when fed too much boost. AT A MINIMUM, take it to a reputable Subaru specialist and get it compression and leak down tested and get them to do a prepurchase inspection to check for gremlins (like by the folk at STechnik). Since the first car has been getting serviced there, they should have notes on it already. If they won’t play ball and let you get it inspected there, run away.

Thanks Phizzle. Hadn't notice the sti spoiler lol. Was more interested in that one as prefere stock as possible. But will definitely get it checked out by stechnic if keen. Cheers
