VF34 vs VF39

hey guys im currently looking 4 a new turbo to fit into my 03 wrx
was looking fir something in the vf series but dun really know bout them,
was thinking of vf34 or vf39. wat's their difference? which one's better?

tuna 16-03-2006 08:04 PM

exhaust and inlet housings, the vf 39 is larger, and thus is designed for the 2.5 sti donk.

better is a matter of opinion, do you want lag, response, horsepower or torque?

MyToy 16-03-2006 10:35 PM

i tink response and power is wat im looking for.. no one wans lag rite?
so u mean a 2.0 wrx is not suitable to use a vf39?

Lag is ok for HUGE horsepower because eventually the turbo kicks in but if ur after track speed try to compromise between the two, moderate power and moderate lag

Which is "bigger" 39 or 22?

This could be good news, a modern 22 equivilent :p

BALISTC 17-03-2006 10:01 AM

VF22 is still the biggest, but its "old school" now.

VF34 is the replacement for the VF22

Better yet, get yourself a Deadbolt or FP TD05, good response with great power!

what are you trying to achieve Dave - hp, drag warrior, track warrior?

Jimmah 17-03-2006 02:58 PM

T88 all tha way

tuna 17-03-2006 06:30 PM

maybe consider the momentum turbo, as it has more top end then the vf22 and spools earlier then a vf34.

BLUES 17-03-2006 06:51 PM

what are they worth?

tuna 17-03-2006 06:55 PM

between $1500-1800, speedworks are the state distributer for them, overall im very impressed with the turbo (i am one fussy bastard for lag) and these spool as quick as the vf35 (genuinley) and have a shit-tin more top end. they are well and truley a 450 hp turbo.

BLUES 17-03-2006 06:59 PM

jeez - that sounds alright - might need to do some more research me thinks...

What model you running Stace - EJ5-40T?
