Why do people take on that 'oh I'm so sorry for you' tone when you say you have an ej255 motor in your wrx?
It seems the 207's are the type to have/work. Any basic reasons why?

2.5's have thinner cylinder walls, so add some boost, they flex and bam she's gone. This is why people recommend sleeving them to add extra strength. With the MY06 we got the US spec 2.5L as Aussies want bigger engines. Jap spec cars still kept the 2L and used twin scroll technology to generate low down torque. These engines can withstand epic amounts of boost.

I could have sworn I saw a late model with thicker cylinder walls, but it may have been a jap spec 207.

207 is tried and tested... guys have pumped thru 2 bar no problems... wouldn't do it in a 255 or a 257 for that matter :P

I would. Plenty of excellent modded examples around the place. You just need a good tuner who knows what they are dealing with.
