Buyer beware - 2000 WRX hatchback on Perth Gumtree
 

Hi guys just wanting to warn any buyers looking at this particular car on Perth Gumtree. I was looking at buying it from a dealer only last week when advertised for $7950 it had 230,000kms on the clock with different number plates.

But amazingly had all the same little things I noticed when I looked at it. I'm 99.9% sure it's the same car

See my pics attached for the similarities...
- Missing water bottle cap
- Chopped cannon muffler tip
- Passenger rear door seal slightly sagged
- turbosmart bov
- manual boost controller
- de-badged boot
- GPS incar player
- Add says metallic black paint.... it's a dark metallic blue (almost black)

Things different:
- number plate
- kms now 193,000....

If this car is a carbon copy and I am wrong I'm sorry, but it annoys me that the kms have been rewinded whether it be pre or post sale.

id say its the same car looks it anyway. good spot

8HUANG8, Looks like an Asian has bought it put his personal plates on & trying to make a quick buck, it was bloody cheap at the yard though, ring MTA or whoever & report him, if he's changed the speedo he must state the original miles on the sale of the vehicle or he's in massive shit, guess that can't be proved till he sells it though.

So, you gonna take this information to DOCEP? Sure as shit looks like the same car. Even the left rear wheel has the balance weight in the same spot.

Dealer would have a copy of the engine/chassis numbers somewhere, get a match and hey hey someone's getting one in between the buttocks.

It's more a sigh cos I was actually going to buy it... enjoyed the test drive.

I'd say the seller won't be caught until the sale of the car. But I see how I feel tomorrow and may report it.

Km's travelled is 1.1 ... replace cluster, hook up battery, drive to a park & take pics for sale.

Definately report him!
