Default Engine flat at low rpms

Hi all I’ve had a bit of work done on my 2005 wrx lately, front pinion bearing, timing belt 200 thou. Now the car at low rpms is sluggish upto about 3 thou rpm no problem once the turbo kicks in.The car has vf34 sti injectors Ecutek 2 tune by MMS.I rang MMS and was told it could be anything and could take hours to find the problem at $104 per hr.(I don’t have a open cheque book)
No signs show up as in lights or buzzers going off.
Any ideas would be helpful.
Cheers Steve.

How is oil and/or coolant consumption? Any signs of smoking on idle (white) or on WOT? (dark/blue)? I've done two head gaskets in 18 months and along with those symptoms my car was sluggish off the mark. Maybe ask for a teekay test to be done before hours of troubleshooting other things. That will be cheap.

I did have an oil leak I was going thru 200 mls every two weeks then I had the timing belt done and that’s when we found the leak,( lefthand front of engine something called cam belt thingy)and rocker covers. No leaking or use of coolant and only black smoke from exhaust.I think there’s a vacuum pressure problem that maybe the mechanic hasn’t tightened a hose up properly.
But I’m no mechanic.

Hi just had my mechanic change front rotors and pads ( track rotors and pads these are sensational ). I had him check why my car hesitates at low to med rpms and just before it hits boost,he cleaned throttle box checked and cleaned the MAF and other parts.he seems to think it could be a faulty MAF or when I had the timing belt changed the mechanic who did the job didn’t line everything up properly (different mechanic to this one) and the timing is out slightly.
What do you think about it
Cheers.

The mechanic also found that the drivers front shock is rooted.

Watched a vid on google on how to clean the MAF so took it off and cleaned it with WD40 and air pressure blow dry made sure all hoses were tight. And what a difference no more stuttering even with air cond blasting away.
Cheers Steve.
