Yeah oil will go bad if you start it every few days. All the contaminants from fuel etc will get into it.
Oil wont go bad if nothing happens to it. It was in the earth for millions of years doing fine. Quote:

Every combustion engine I have ever had anything to do with has been recommended warmed before put under load. Far worse to start and stop an engine constantly when cold. Ever notice old engines rattle and knock on start up but quiet down when warm? All the internals get up to temp, expand and circulate fresh oil properly. Better to get that warm slippery stuff moving first and all the expansion over and done with. |

I just left mine for 4 months and forgot to disconnect battery so it was flat but after it had a jump start all is fine and before that it sat under a tarp for close to 4 yrs without a battery or water and just needed some hoses, clean fuel & plugs so I wouldn't worry too much about 4-6 weeks.

Your car is most at risk of damage on start up and when being put under heavy load when cold, more fuel will wash past pistons in a cold engine and that will contaminate your oil quicker. If you repeatedly start and stop a cold engine you run the risk of contaminating oil, fouling your top end and increase the chance of damaging cold and insufficiently lubricated rings and bearings. Oil also has a operating temperature range where it is designed to work best. Nearly every one that posted in the other thread have the right idea, get the oil moving and then drive slow till operating temp gets up. I'm pretty sure the others were taking the piss. Back on topic, the OP wanted to know how to keep a hard parked WRX running sweet, since it cant be driven. Disconnect battery till required. Trickle charger is better. Idle till operating temp, any more is not really gonna make much difference. This allows every thing to heat evenly and the oil to get up to temp and properly circulate. 5 mins will be heaps. I've had no issues doing exactly this for years now. Still haven't killed a battery, touch wood. |

I still wouldn't be wasting money or fuel starting it up every day / couple of days. Won't do shit all. Maybe once a month for long term storage.
Just disconnect the battery, let it go flat or put a trickle charger on. My GC8 is rarely started and either of these options works fine. Except when you go to start it at night and the only place for a new battery is Big W...
