Default Sti intake manifold

Hi guys gonna take off my intake manifold tomoro for two things , firstly to install the Perrin silicone intake , and I though while it was off is re spray it . So I was looking for advice on two things here . Firstly if I take it off do I need new gaskets? Secondly I wanna paint it red , has anyone here done it and what paint did you use? It's already red from stock but really dirty so just wanna give it a touch up .
Cheers

If it's already red, just soak it in some degreser and hose it off. should come up a treat.

Hey Kaiden,

As above, maybe try cleaning it first. You may even get away with cleaning it on the motor, & not even bother taking it off.

To answer your questions though :-

VHT wrinkle red would be the paint you are looking for. The paint is not a 100% match in colour (its close), but it has the textured effect. The paint is HERE, & I think AutoPro in Innaloo has it in stock, maybe call them first though.

You should* change the gaskets out if you are removing the intake manifold. That’s not to say you will get away with not changing them though. It really depends what condition they are in I guess. It would be a pain though to put the manifold back on, and then find you have a leak from not changing them.

definitely replace the gaskets. Even if they've been only just been fitted, once the manifolds torqued up, they will tear if they are removed. So no question about it.
Do it right first time.
