EJ20G. Looks like an RS Liberty/Legacy or early WRX motor.

Have a look at the top of the heads to be sure.
2 bolt coil pack = RS Liberty/Legacy
1 bolt coil pack = early WRX

Im just going by the intake manifold though. It could even be a 97-98 WRX ej20 motor. Intake manifolds are interchangeable.

it has single coil packs on each cylinder

i was told when i brought it it was a wrx motor as the original rs liberty motor had blowin up ?

also on both halves on the motor it has 00

im just trying to assertain weather the 97 gc8 wreck i brought i can use in this as the intake is completly differant ?

any help is appreciated

Either way, yes you can use the 97 WRX engine, just keep the intake off your current motor and bolt onto it.

so its definitely an early WRX motor.
