Calcium / Bore Water
Hi guys,
I have just moved into my new unit complex, which unfortunately uses bore water for it's reticulation. Soon after moving in my car has horrible calcium drips on it, and a fine orange shade due to the bore water. I can't stand it. Investing in a car cover soon for my rexy. I am wondering if you guys have any good tips / cleaning products to remove these stains? Also, is it safe to attempt to use CLR on a car? I just called up a few car detailing prices on bore removal and they are too pricey for me at the moment, so if you guys have any good easy fixes I would be in your debt. Thanks heaps :) |

So it turned out a product called "clay bar" helped OlisSTI remove his bore water stains. I don't know anything about this stuff. Where do you reckon I could pick some up? If it's easily attainable that would be great. :) |

Looks promising! I shall go out tomorrow and pick some up. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction DZENCI  |
This stuff works AMAZING on glass in removing etching/bore staining:

Would normally need a polish (minor cut) to follow to remove this. Please note: A clay bar removes all contaminates/dirt/crap out of the paint. In doing so it also removes all the good stuff (wax/sealant). Please follow up the clay bar with a wax to restore some sort of protection (I seem to find most people rave about how they 'clay barred' their car.. and followed with nothing). |
try aluminum brightner, but dilute 1 to 5 use sponge, wash as you go then polish, works a treat, on the red dirt from up north
