a couple times in the last two years i have been sitting in the car with ignition on (and r/detector on) but engine not running, have recieved a message on my phone and the detector has suddenly gone nuts on K-band.
it has never once gone off while driving, or because of a phone call..

Regarding the whistlers, i've got the Pro73... and can honestly say, i've used the Beltronics RX65 and been less impressed with it than my Whistler... the whistler on a spec-by-spec comparison features everything the bel has, with the exception of KU Band, which we dont use in AU anyway... but every other spec is either the same or slightly better (ie. from memory one of the bands it picks up a few mhz more either side of what the bel is capable of) and i can say that it definatly picks up the cop cars both the new & old ones (we've aparently got one of these ones in Albany that according to the retired sarg we should "throw out your radar detectors, cos they'll be useless" yet i pick up that car from a mile away all the time.... im considering buying in some more, as i've had intrest with some other people wanting one... they'd be priced at about $250 each, i havnt had any proper experience with the multinovas, i picked up one once on the opisite side of the road pointing the other way about 500m before i actual saw it, but im yet to be on the same side of the road as an active one... the only time i was i had my detector unplugged cos i had my G-Tech plugged in...

Regards,

SiriX

RX65's like to join in on mobile phone conversations.
When I have the stereo cranked and the detector goes off, I check my phone to see if it's ringing / sms received.

Makes me wonder how much radiation is coming out of these things.
