Alloygator rim protector
Hi, everyone,
Has anyone used this product or anything similar before? I only installed one on my wheel yesterday, just a bit worried about whether my tyre will leak air or the pretector itself would come loose. So far, I have done 100km, everything is fine. It requires to deflate the tyre completely, and use a hammer to push it in between the rim and tyre. Will it damage the sidewall during fast cornering? Thanks in advance.

I have no idea whether it would damage anything, but I personally wouldn't use anything that alters the seating of the tire. They just look like a bit of ricey dress up (bit rich coming from someone who just vinyl-wrapped his roof). In all seriousness though, you curb those and they could crack or scuff and it's still going to be as visible as scuffing rims. I don't see the point of them at all.

there was a guy on onfoz who had one come off at 100 and stuffed all the paintwork on his rear quarter panel

EDIT: Just realised I mis-interpreted the side-on pic of it. It's sitting as deep as the seal goes. Still, probably not an issue if it was just a daily, but low profile tyres & the fact it's a car more likely to see some more serious tyre distortion under braking/hard cornering is making me think twice about these.
