Default Brake / Indicator Lights

Noticed most of my lights on my GC8 are getting fairly dull now (indicator, brake). I was thinking of swapping them over to LED instead of the old globe ones.

I was also thinking of upgrading my headlights.

Has anyone else changed from globes to LED and can shed any light on the subject. Did you go anywhere for a package deal? What sort of headlights did you purchase?

I'm taking my car into STechnic on Thursday for a service, and am also wondering if they offer any packages.

Thanks guys

Are they plastic lenses? Could do with a clean? There's a thread on here on how to rejuvenate plastic lenses.

I've got the same problem with my gc8 my left brake light works but it's so dull you can only see it from about a metre away. Changed the globe still happened, maybe I should try and clean my lens.

I guess they could do with a clean. *shrug*

I was mostly thinking about switching to LED for a brighter light though.

Sounds more like you may have an earth issue. Globes don't generally "fade"

Holy crap, I actually do have an earth issue, I didn't even think to link it to this problem!

I got a shotty install done by the people at Alberts in Osborne Park (DON'T EVER GO THERE, EVER.)

I'm getting the problem solved this Friday by Alberts in Morley. Basically I just had a lot of feedback coming through my speakers whilst driving.

But yeah this will most probably be the cause of dull lights.

Thanks for this insightful post, I'll do a follow-up post in the next week.

Cheers

Wtf? My threads differentiate in topics over the course of 1 year. I have a high ratio because I log on like once every 3 months. when I run into a problem with my wrx, I know I can come to these forums for support.
